An exciting opportunity exists within our Planning & Community team for an Executive Manager - Planning & Development.  Reporting to the Director - Planning & Community we are looking for an experienced individual to manage the overall operation and function of the Planning & Development program and ensure Council's strategic and operational objectives are achieved. This position is responsible for the oversight of Strategic Planning, Development Assessment and Building & Plumbing Services.


As the Executive Manager - Planning & Development you will be responsible for the:

  • Management of the operation, supervision & development of the Planning & Development team
  • Management of any changes or impacts or risk which may affect the Planning & Development program or projects and their relationship to other projects and work.
  • Effective utilisation and management of the people and resources involved in the Planning & Development program.
  • Coordination of Planning & Development program related activities, ensuring project and business plans align with Council’s overarching Corporate Plan and Operational Plan.
  • Effective Delegation, motivation, coaching and mentoring of the Planning & Development program team members and managers.



  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline
  • Current manual C class driver's licence
