Position Summary

Title: Geriatric Medicine Registrar 2019

Department: Geriatrics and Rehabilitation Medicine

Classification: HM25 - HM30

Hours: Contracted at 86 per fortnight
Status: Full-time, 6 month term from August 2019

The position is accredited with the RACP for Advanced Training (Advanced Trainee In Geriatric Medicine preferred)

Bendigo Health is the regional referral and trauma center for a region that extends from Woodend to southern NSW and is committed to delivering world class healthcare to our community.


There is emphasis on a practical, hands on approach to junior doctor training and we aim to foster excellent clinical exposure across a range of specialties. 


The new Bendigo Hospital opened in January 2017 and is the largest regional hospital development in Victoria. It delivers world-class regional hospital incorporating the latest design and technology solutions, in a tranquil and caring environment.

The new facilities include 372 inpatient beds, 72 same-day beds, 11 new operating theatres, a regional cancer center, an 80-bed integrated mental health facility, a mother-and-baby unit, a helipad and parking for 1350 vehicles.

Bendigo Health is seeking motivated staff to help the organization progress excellence in clinical care as we transition to our new exciting hospital. 


There is also the opportunity to work closely with an excellent team of Geriatric and Rehabilitation Medicine Physicians as part of the Clinical Operations division.

Selection Criteria
Essential:
01.MBBS or equivalent degree enabling general registration with AHPRA. Membership of College advanced training program preferred.

Essential:
02.Demonstrated appropriate level experience and skills in the medical assessment and clinical management of patients.

Essential:
03.Thorough understanding of the relevant legislation pertaining to Medical Officers.

Essential:
04.High level interpersonal and communication skills.

Essential:
05.Evidence of ongoing professional development to continually update personal medical knowledge and skills.

06.Ability to operate in an environment of change.

07.Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently.
