| Position Summary |
We are currently recruiting for the position of Distribution Center Assistant in our Kunda Park Distribution Centre on a Casual basis, with the possibility for conversion to Permanent Part-Time.
Should you accept the challenge, your key responsibilities will include but are not limmited to,
- Bagging of rags to operational standards in preparation for dispatch.
- Operate baling machine to support export production and facilitate the storage of goods.
- Operate forklift or manually move crates/items to ensure that the process line has a continual supply of stock for production.
- Assist with loading and unloading of trucks and containers.
- Maintain work stations and storage areas in a clean and tidy manner, in accordance with workplace health and safety regulations, including moving stock and rubbish to allocated areas.
- Ensure equipment is maintained in a fully operational condition and report any maintenance or safety issues to relevant supervisor.
- Act as a customer focused, values based team member and work collaboratively with other UnitingCare Community staff and volunteers to achieve strong results across all the activities provided by the Directorate.
About You:
To be successful in this role, we will be looking for the following skills and attributes:
- Be passionate about Lifeline and be able to articulate its purpose
- Previous experience working within a warehousing environment with skills in stock control, rotation and order picking
- Ability to deliver a high level of customer service and exceed customer expectations
- Demonstrate enthusiasm and eagerness to learn the fundamentals of all Store and Distribution roles, including but not limited to customer service and stock control.
- Setting and exceeding priorities to meet daily deadlines; developing plans to meet short-term objectives
- Exceptional attention to detail, organisational and planning skills
- Strong problem solving and influencing skills
The possession of a forklift licence is essential for this position.
