The Opportunity:
We’re seeking passionate leaders to exceed in the delivery of facilitating employment opportunities for young adults with a disability to enable them to achieve their goals and maintain socially valued roles, friendships and relationships now and into the future.
Project SEARCH is an innovative, business-led, one-year employment preparation program that takes place entirely within a host workplace. The program assists young people with a disability to undertake an internship that provides on the job training across three particular roles within large service organisations such as hospitals and aged care environments
Project SEARCH began in the US in 1996 at the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital and is now operating in sites across the United States and Canada, England, Scotland, Ireland, Wales, and the Netherlands. http://www.projectsearch.us
We are currently seeking two Job Coaches to join our growing Project SEARCH team for 12-month period (fixed term). We have a position based at the Wesley Hospital, Auchenflower and our Blue Care Community, Eastern Heights, Ipswich office starting in February 2021.
About you:
This opportunity calls for an outstanding communicator with an ability to effectively engage with internal and external stakeholders including community members and organisations. We’re looking for someone who is values driven and passionate about a safe employment environment that attracts, engages and retains our clients, their families and skilled employees.
To addition, you will possess the following:
- Hold a deep commitment to the social value of people a disability.
- Demonstrated experience delivering Disability Employment Services or other employment supports to young people with a disability or similar.
- Certificate IV qualification within related Employment, Education, Disability or Community Service field.
- Experience working to and achieving KPI’s and milestones
- Demonstrated ability to deliver high level processes with a comprehensive working knowledge of technology in particular the Microsoft Office suite.
- Demonstrated knowledge or the willingness to understand the application of the principles of Project SEARCH Model Fidelity, NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Framework, National Standards for Disability Services and the local Labor market trends and conditions.
- Completed the NDIS worker orientation module "Quality, Safety and you"
- A current Positive Notice from Disability Services, willingness to undergo a “Working with Children Check” and a Suitability Card (Blue Card) prior to commencing employment.
- Current CPR and First Aid Certificate.
