Position Summary

We are seeking a casual sorter to sort and categorize the large volume of clothing and bric-a-brac that is generously donated. This role is done in a production line within a warehouse environment that can be dusty, cold in Winter and hot in Summer.

Applicants must be reliable and able to work within a fast paced environment while meeting required targets and demonstrate a commitment to participate in training,follow directions and have the ability to work in a team.

This role involves repetitive tasks such as lifting, carrying, standing and walking for long periods, due to the physical nature of the role it is an inherent requirment that all applicants be able and willing to do all of the above tasks with no restriction.

Supplementing above it will be highly desirable that you will have a basic knowledge of brands and quality.

This position requires the staff member to be available for a 6:00am start in Summer.

Some of the other key responsibilities include:

  •  Sort donations to a shop standard in preparation for dispatch to retail outlets or discard for unsaleable items.
  •  Meet daily sorting targets and maintain accurate daily production records.
  •  Ensure individual work areas are kept clean and tidy. 
  •  Work harmoniously with volunteers and other employees to promote a positive team environment. 

Remuneration 

$25.67 per hour + super

Selection Criteria Desirable: Previous experience in a similar role or environment prefered.
Desirable: A basic knowledge of brands and quality is highly desirable.
