Position Summary

The Opportunity:

We’re seeking a passionate team leader to exceed in the delivery of high-quality support, helping to ensure people with a disability are able to achieve their goals and maintain socially valued roles, friendships and relationships.

As a Lead Practitioner (Team Leader), you will be balancing your commitment to actively work in partnership with individuals and their families while providing mentoring and guidance to your direct reports. To be successful in this role you will coach, manage and support you team, empowering them to reach their full potential whilst exceeding client’s expectations and supporting with building a high-performance centric culture.

You will work with the people we support and their family members, friends, and community resources to help people achieve their personal goals; maintain friendships, relationships, jobs and community roles; and live their daily life.

This hands-on role requires you to ensure the health and safety of our clients and team members are at the forefront of everything we do.

About You:

This opportunity calls for an outstanding communicator with an ability to effectively engage with internal and external stakeholders including community members and organisations. To addition, you will possess the following:

  • 3 years + Leadership experience in a similar role and relevant qualifications in the Human Services, Community Services or related industry
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, lead and mentor effective staff teams working within established budget, direction and guidelines.
  • Demonstrated experience with internal and external reporting matrix’s and case management experience will be beneficial along with demonstrated experience in appropriately managing emergency or crisis situations.
  • A willingness to understand the application of the principles of family or self-governance, personal autonomy, choice and control and intentional safeguarding for our clients.
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of driving safety measures and auditing requirements
  • Knowledge of legislation underpinning the provision of services within the disability sector and the key issues affecting quality of life for people with a disability.
  • Completed the NDIS worker orientation module "Quality, Safety and you"
  • A current Positive Notice from Disability Services, willingness to undergo a “Working with Children Check” and a Suitability Card (Blue Card) prior to commencing employment.
  • Current CPR and First Aid Certificate.
