Position Summary

We are currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Full Time Family Counsellor to join our UnitingCare Qld Team working within our Child and Family, Family Intervention Service supporting the  North Coast Region (Sunshine Coast).

 

The Role:

In this role you will provide holistic response to the needs of each individual in the family and to the family unit as a whole, to support children who are at imminent risk of out of home placement or whom require reunification following a period of out of home care. You will provide practical and emotional support while working within theraputic care framework to offer opportunities for families to create a better future.

 

About You:

Ideally you will have previous experience within a similar position where you have worked with families and children from diverse cultural backgrounds in addition you will have a strong capability to utilise therapeutic processes and practices. Supplementing the above you will be tertiary Qualified within a Human Service related discipline (Minimum Bachelor Degree) with relevant registration with a nationally recognised proffessional body.

In addition it is an inherent requirement of this role that the individual appointed be able to present at the time of appointment a Current drivers license and “working with Children check” (Blue card).

 

Please note we are a person centre organisation as such all applicants to this role will need to demonstrate a willingness to be flexible in service delivery hours as you may be required to support where nesscary in on call/out of hours response.
