Position Summary

We are currently seeking a motivated individual to join our dedicated North Queensland Rural Family Support Service on a fulltime basis. This role will be primarily based out of Townsville and will require extensive travel to provide in-home support to families living in remote areas of North West Queensland.

Purpose of Position

  • Provide support to families living in rural areas experiencing parent and family-orientated challenges
  • Work alongside individuals, families and extended families to improve family dynamics
  • Provide education, information, and practical assistance to families accessing the service
  • Provide a holist response to the needs of each individual in the family and to the family as a unit as well

What do you need to be successful in this role?

  • Possession of relevant tertiary qualifications (Social Work, Psychology or Behavioural Sciences)
  • Sounds knowledge of and demonstrated ability to utilise, therapeutic processes and practices
  • Highly developed counselling, interpersonal and communication frameworks and practices, that are congruent with strengths or competencies approach and demonstrated professional integrity, with respect to such matters as confidentiality and client interests
  • Demonstrated ability to work co-operatively within a team contributing to the development of program procedures and work practices.
  • Supervisory experience is highly regarded
  • Current Drivers Licence
  • Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
  • A criminal history check will be conducted on the recommended person for this position

Remuneration

base salary + super+ salary packaging + employee benefits
