Position Summary

We are currently seeking to appoint a Family Advisor to work as part of our UnitingCare Family Relationship Centre based in  Bundaberg on a Full Time basis.

The Role:

The purpose of this role is to provide intake and assessment services in preparation for family dispute resolution for issues that could otherwise be matters for proceedings under the Commonwealth Family Law Act 1975.

About You:

The successful candidate will hold relevent qualifications and experience or/skills in Social Science, assessment, case management and support network referrals. Supplementing this, you will need a current Queensland Drivers Licence and Blue Card (or be willing to obtain one).

Selection Criteria Essential: Relevant Tertiary qualifications and experience and/or skills in Social Science, Assessment, Case Management and support Network Referrals.
Essential: Demonstrated sound knowledge and understanding of current legislation, family dispute resolution trends, practices and intervention processes.
Essential: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with strong emphasis on the abilities to: Communicate effectively with a wide range of clients and other stakeholders; maintain records and prepare accurate reports and case summaries for the use of colleagues and other professionals.
Essential: Work effectively both autonomously and as a member of a team.
Essential: Demonstrated competency in computer use (Microsoft Office, Databases and the ability to learn new programs.)
Essential: Ability to work within the beliefs, mission, values and policies of UnitingCare and FAHCSIA guidelines and to adhere to the provisions of the Workplace Health and Safety and other relevant Legislation as they apply to the regions services.
