Position Summary

UnitingCare are seeking applications from experienced and dedicated professionals to join our Intensive Residential Care Service based in North Brisbane in the position of Service Lead. The position will be for an initial 6 month contract with the possibility of extension.

The Role: 

The Service Lead will lead, drive and support the service to achieve various outcomes identified by the young person, stakeholders and support team.They will utilise their skills to manage all aspects of service delivery to ensure these goals and objectives are met as identified in the Service Agreement and within prescribed time frames.

Supplementing this, responsibilities of the Service Leader include:

  • Utilise their specialist knowledge to provide therapeutic support to the team and young people while working within relevant practice and quality frameworks. The Service Lead will build connections and act as the case manager to drive the delivery of the young person’s case plan whilst assisting with transitioning clients to a home based placement.
  • Manage and complete risk management plans to identify and inform management of current or potential risks that may impact on service delivery, the operations of the organisation and in particular, the safety of clients and employees. 
  • Provide high support and accountability to the youth worker team to ensure clients outcomes are met while being a role model for staff.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have a strong understanding of the child protection system and more specifically, previous exposure to a residential or out of home care environment. In addition, you will have a strong therapeutic background with a well-developed understanding of C.A.R.E principles.  

Supplementing the above, you will require the following qualifications and experience:

  • Tertiary Qualifications in Human services, Social Science and/or relevant experience, expertise and competence attained through previous service or study sufficient to perform duties at this level.
  • Experience managing staff in an out of home care setting.
  • Ability to achieve a variety of outcomes for multiple clients in an out of home care setting and within prescribed time frames and parameters.
  • Ability to provide professional leadership to service delivery employees through participative supervision, professional development and performance management with service excellence.
  • Ability to work alongside the Foster and Kinship Care team, volunteer foster carers and respite care providers.
  • Experience providing post crisis response and debriefing staff members.
  • Experience being on-call in the community service sector.
  • High level knowledge and ability to use Microsoft software, in particular Word and Excel, alongside other UnitingCare database applications.
  • Current Drivers Licence
  • Positive Blue Card
  • LCS 2 check (Child Safety and Personal History Screening)

Remuneration

$83,248.88 + super+ salary packaging + employee benefits
