The Opportunity

We are currently seeking two motivated and enthusiastic Group Facilitator / Counsellors to join our Uniting Care Men Choosing Change and Family Support & Counselling Team based in Ipswich on a part-time basis.

Our Men Choosing Change Group Facilitators are pivotal in facilitating our group program with a focus on perpetrator accountability. The role also provides counselling with individual, children and families with an aim to strengthen resilience and wellbeing and strengthen families. You will support the diverse individuals and families who engage in our services supporting each member of the family unit to ensure they are safe and have a positive wellbeing.

What you'll need

Ideally you will have previous experience within a similar position where you have worked with men who perpetrate violence and families and children from diverse cultural backgrounds. In addition you will have a strong therapeutic framework, with the capability to provide/facilitate group programs. Supplementing the above you will be tertiary Qualified within social science, psychology and/or counselling with applicable eligibility for membership to one of the following professional associations (Australian Psychological Society, Australian Counselling Association or PACFA Member Association.).

In addition it is an inherent requirement of these roles that the individual appointed be able to present at the time of appointment a Current drivers license and "working with Children check" (Blue card).

Selection Criteria Essential: Minimum Bachelor Degree in either Counselling, Social Science or Psychology
Essential: Current Blue Card - Working with Children
Desirable: Membership to Australian Counselling Association
Essential: Domestic and Family Violence Experience
Desirable: Observed hours required under practice standards to co-facilitate DFV Groups OR capacity to make these hours up is successful in this positon
