The Opportunity:

Our Family & Disability Services division is currently inviting applications for the position Client Safe Manager. Family and Disability Services is a respected industry leader and one of Queensland’s largest community service providers, with a wide range of services that provide support to vulnerable individuals, families and communities in metropolitan, regional and remote locations across the State. 

Specifically, this role is responsible for leading a team who proactively monitor client safety and identify immediate client risks and associated improvements required to assure us that our expected practice standards, compliance and legislative requirements are adhered to.  The Client Safety Manager will lead a small team who undertake reviews, investigations, practice compliance and site visits.  It is expected that the Client Safety Manager will undertake client safe investigations and reviews as required in addition to quality assuring the work of the team.  This role will have an active part to play in ensuring the Family and Disability Services team uphold the UnitingCare commitment to be a Child Safe and Child Friendly organisation.

The team is managed by the General Manager of Practice, Improvement and Development (Family and Disability Services); in addition the Client Safety Manager has a direct reporting line to the Group Executive (Family and Disability Services).

This is a unique opportunity to influence the quality of client services across a diverse portfolio of services in the State, including Out of Home Care, Disability, Parenting and Family Support, Domestic and Family Violence, Homelessness, Early Childhood Education, Financial Resilience and Wellbeing and Community Recovery services.             

Based in Brisbane, the role of Client Safety Manager will foster a culture of synergy and engagement, partnering closely with operational General Managers, your peer group and key internal stakeholders to ensure safe continuity of service delivery and quality client experiences.

About You:

  • Minimum of 5 years child/adult protection leadership and investigation experience coupled with a minimum Tertiary level qualification in Social Work, Psychology or Human Services
  • Detailed understanding of Out of Home Care, Disability Services and Community Services licensing, legislation and regulations
  • Substantial proven capacity in applying investigation methodologies and techniques
  • Highly developed skills in building and maintaining productive stakeholder relationships including influencing and coaching
  • Highly developed judgement, critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Highly developed written skills including the preparation of investigation reports
