Position Summary

UnitingCare is searching for experienced Paediatric Therapists, Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists and Physiotherapists to join our Early Childhood Early Intervention (ECEI) Partner in Community team based in Toowoomba. Part-time hours may be considered for the right applicants.

Working both autonomously and as part of UnitingCare’s ECEI team, you will:

  • Successfully “get to know” the children with developmental delay or disability and their families by becoming familiar with their unique daily life circumstances, aspirations, gifts, talents and life potential.
  • Provide initial supports, including information, guidance and practical therapeutic strategies to families and young children aged 0-6 years with developmental delay or disability as part of their engagement with Early Childhood Early Intervention under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
  • Provide best practice, outcome focused, short term transdisciplinary therapeutic intervention designed to enable young children to attain developmental milestones through working collaboratively with families to build their capacity to support their child’s development within natural settings and community based settings. Support children and families to be fully integrated into the life and opportunities of their communities, educational opportunities and where appropriate, to the NDIS for a funded plan.

Requirements

  • Recognised qualifications, registration and experience in Speech Pathology/Occupational Therapy/Psychology/Physiotherapy.
  • Current Drivers Licence and flexibility for travel within the region.
  • A current Positive Notice from Disability Services. Employment is conditional upon presentation of a current Positive Notice, or a willingness to apply for and obtain the same.
  • Ability to undergo a “Working with Children Check” under the screening provisions of the Commission for Children and Young People Act (2000) and obtain a Suitability Card (Blue Card).

Post graduate experience working in paediatric therapies within a community and multidisciplinary setting would be preferred.

Remuneration

Base salary + super + salary packaging + employee benefits
