Position Summary

The Lead Practitioner delivers sustainable high quality support to people with a disability so that they can achieve personal goals and maintain socially valued roles, friendships and relationships, within the resources available to them. These resources include funding, family, informal supports and community resources. The role is the senior direct delivery leadership role for support to assist people with a disability to achieve their personal planned outcomes.

Main requirements and duties of the position:

  • Work in collaboration with people with disabilities, their families, and personal networks to assist the people we serve in everyday living situations. This includes the provision of personal care and household management as needed.
  • Mentor and lead a team of Disability Support Practitioners to deliver high quality support.
  • Ensure safe, efficient and sustainable day to day management of resources for particular households, including staff, records, budget, buildings and vehicles.

What do you need to be successful in this role?

  • Demonstrated ability in linking individuals with a disability into their community and acknowledging and rewarding their gifts so that both the individual with a disability and the wider community benefits.
  • Demonstrated ability that the people served have a reduced reliance on formal disability supports.
  • Ability to work effectively and constructively across all stakeholders, including application of the principles of family or self-governance, personal autonomy, choice and control and intentional safeguarding.
  • Knowledge of recruitment practices and principles including consultation and engagement with the people we serve and matching staff appropriately.
  • Take responsibility for decisions, rosters and other day to day requirements for efficient management of the service.
  • A current positive notice from Disability Services or ability to obtain same.
  • Current CPR, First Aid Certificate and Driver's Licence.
  • Capacity and willingness to work outside business hours on occasion if required.

This position is currently based in the Oxley area with some work in the Annerley office.

Remuneration

base salary + super+ salary packaging + employee benefits
