St Vincent's Private Hospital Melbourne is a facility of St Vincent’s Health Australia under the stewardship of Mary Aikenhead Ministries. We are a not for profit Catholic Private Hospital which operates across four sites; Fitzroy, East Melbourne, Kew and Werribee (Opening Jan 2018).

 

An opportunity exists for a motivated Clinical Coder to join our supportive coding team at our Fitzroy campus. You will have access to a very broad casemix, our coding education and mentoring program and exposure to internal and external coding audits.  You will also be working for one of the leading private not-for-profit healthcare providers in Victoria whilst performing the following:

 

Coding and DRG Assignment

  • Allocate disease and procedure codes for hospital discharges across the private division using scanned medical records and the current version of the ACCD of ICD-10 AM
  • Undertake quality activities

  Applicants will:

  • Be eligible for Full or Affiliate Membership to the Health Information Management
  • Good knowledge of Australian Coding Standards
  • Knowledge of DRGs and Casemix
  • High level of computer literacy
