St Vincent’s Private Melbourne is a facility of St Vincent’s Health Australia under the stewardship of Mary Aikenhead Ministries.  We are a not for profit Catholic private hospital which operates across three sites at Fitzroy, East Melbourne, Kew and Werribee (opening in 2018).

 

An opportunity exists for a motivated Clinical Coder to join our supportive coding team. You will have access to a very broad casemix, our coding education and mentoring program and exposure to internal and external coding audits.  You will also be working for one of the leading private not-for-profit healthcare providers in Victoria whilst performing the following:

 

Coding and DRG Assignment

  • Allocate disease and procedure codes for hospital discharges within the SVHA private division using the current version of ACCD ICD-10-AM, ACHI and ACS, scanned medical records and Tubocoder.

 Applicants will have: 

  • Be eligible for Full or Affiliate Membership to the Health Information Management Associate of Australia
  • Good knowledge of Australian Coding Standards
  • Knowledge of DRGs and Casemix
  • High level of computer literacy

Selection Criteria Essential: minimum 2 years coding experience
Essential: Eligible for Affiliate Membership to the Health Information Management Association of Australia
Essential: High level of computer literacy
