The Position

St John of God Subiaco Hospital has a rare and exciting opportunity for suitably qualified Pharmacy Technicians to join our team.

In this role, you will assist in the provision of pharmacy services to patients, external organisations, and other hospital caregivers by providing technical support to pharmacists.

Experience working as a Pharmacy Technician or Dispensary Assistant will be highly regarded.

We currently have one permanent full-time and one temporary (6-month) full time position available, working Monday to Friday with some weekend and evening work.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Ability to work within and contribute to the Mission and Values of St John of God Health Care
  • Possession of or progress towards Certificate IV Medical Technicians and Assistants (Pharmacy) or its equivalent
  • Familiarity with aseptic dispensing procedures including preparation of cytotoxic drugs or preparedness to undertaken appropriate training
  • Familiarity with the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme and dispensing procedures
  • Ability to walk and carry light loads over short distances up to eight hours per day
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of drug terminology
  • Demonstrated time management skills and ability to work unsupervised to meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, instructions and work procedures with the ability to document accurately and neatly
