Obstetrics & Gynaecology Senior Registrar

Full Time, Fixed Term


Northern Health is a dynamic health service, providing vital public healthcare to residents of Melbourne’s northern suburbs and the surrounding regional communities. Our five campuses offer services to a vastly diverse community at all stages of life. 


The Northern Hospital Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology provides broad-based training and experience in general Obstetrics and Gynaecology and is a training site for the Diploma and Advanced Diploma in Obstetrics of the RANZCOG. There are approximately 3000 births per year.

Maternity and Women's Health provides a comprehensive range of women's health services and facilitates 2400 births annually. The Unit has 10 Birthing Suites, 28 Obstetrics/Gynaecology beds as well as Level 2 sixteen cot Special Care Nursery. There are two full-time specialists, one of whom is the Clinical Director as well as seven V.M.O Specialists.


About the role:


The Senior Registrar provides training and support to the ITPs and HMOs in this busy Unit. As well as providing training and support to all levels, the Senior Registrar is responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the department, including ensuring adequate roster and leave coverage.
