The Northern Hospital is seeking dynamic medical personnel to undertake Registrar positions in our busy Emergency Department, commencing February 2019.

The Northern Hospital Emergency Department is amongst the busiest in Victoria, treating over 80,000 patients annually. We experience a diverse mix of presentations ranging from complex medical, surgical, trauma, obstetrics and gynaecology and paediatrics. Paediatric presentations account for 25 per cent of our total patient population, and are managed within a dedicated paediatric emergency area.  Our Emergency Department has recently undergone significant redevelopment to be able to manage the increasing complexity and number of patients from the rapid growth corridor of the northern suburbs, and surrounding regional catchments.

The Registrar position has access to a high quality training program coordinated through dedicated training time as well as support and mentoring of Emergency Consultants on the floor. This has been evidenced by a high success rates in both ACEM Primary and Fellowship examinations.

Ensuring that you experience a wide range of opportunities to enhance your career path, we offer non-Emergency Department rotations to specialist areas including Anaesthetics, ICU, Paediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, as well as Orthopaedic and Plastic surgery.
