Research Nurse Coordinator - Haematology

PART-TIME, fixed term 12 months

56 hrs per fortnight

(0.7 EFT, less or more hours are negotiable)

An exciting opportunity exists for a nurse to expand their horizons and step into a different realm of nursing. This role will involve working in the field of malignant haematology, offering important and significant clinical trials to the local community.

Research or clinical trials experience is not required, although desired. Experience in the field of malignant haematology is essential.

As our services expand the successful candidate will need to be a part of the process of growth and change, assisting in the implementation and development of workflow that caters to the regulatory requirements and monitoring required for clinical trials.

The successful candidate will need to possess:

  • current division 1 APHRA nursing registration
  • ability to work autonomously within a team environment
  • knowledge of malignant haematology
  • excellent communication skills

Position summary

The primary responsibility of the Research Nurse Coordinator in Haematology is to coordinate and facilitate haematology clinical trials. Duties include patient assessments, recruitment, sample and data collection and data management. Computer skills will be required but can be nurtured if not proficient. Close guidance will be available for tasks required in relation to research regulatory documentation and applications.

Selection Criteria Desirable: Completion of cancer competency course and accredited to deliver chemotherapy in the state of Victoria
