2019 Thrombosis Fellow position - Northern Health
Northern Health provides a diverse range of acute, sub-acute and community health services to the large and diverse population in the regions north of Melbourne. Our five campuses offer services to a vastly diverse community at all stages of life.
Northern Health’s Clinical Haematology Unit provides a rapidly expanding tertiary haematology service to the growing northern suburbs of Melbourne. This service has a large clinical and thrombosis research unit, seeing approximately 500 new VTE patients a year. The research team has an excellent publication record and is currently conducting multiple investigator-led epidemiological and biomarker studies. As a member of the haematology unit, the Thrombosis Fellow play a pivotal role in shaping our thrombosis research as well as participate in the rapidly expanding Clinical Haematology Service at Northern Health. Apart from providing a high standard of care for our Haematology patients and leading thrombosis research studies, the Fellow also has the opportunity to be actively involved in malignant clinical trials, protocol development and review, as well as help with educating other team members.
Applicants must be RACP trainees and ideally have at least some research experience, including presentations at conferences.
