Position Summary

REVENUE SERVICES OFFICER - NOTHERN HEALTH

We are looking for a customer service focused staff member to join our team in a full-time role for a 12 month fixed term contract. This is an exciting opportunity to join our Revenue Services team with responsibilities for timely and reliable patient billing, debt recovery and collections.

The position will work under the direction of the Revenue Services Billing Team Leader in achieving the objectives of the Revenue Services Department. This position will work across Northern Health to maintain good working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders such as Doctors, patients, their families and carers, health funds and agencies.

Given that government funding is capped the work of our Revenue Services department is absolutely critical in helping to generate much needed private funding for Northern Health which supports patient service delivery and investment in new medical equipment and research.

 

Essential Background

Previous healthcare administration experience

Previous experience in patient billing, invoicing and debt collection

Demonstrated strong customer service skills

Experience with hospital consumers

Proficiency in computer skills (i.PM, Excel, EDIS)

Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines in a fast paced, deadline orientated department

Strong attention to detail and time management

Excellent relationship building and interpersonal abilities

Selection Criteria Essential: Experience in billing, invoicing, debtor collection and/or patient account administration.
Desirable: Experience with large enterprise billing and finance systems and software.
Essential: Strong computer skills including strong proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
Desirable: Strong knowledge of patient billing and practices.
Essential: Strong knowledge of the public health sector.
