Position Summary

Multicultural and Community Programs Librarian


This is an exciting opportunity to join a professional and innovative team to support our vision of fostering life-long learning, community connectedness, creativity, well-being and a reading culture to enrich lives and build resilience.

Key aspects of this role include organising library based community activities and programs, promote reader development and provide high quality, targeted library and information services to those in the local community from a culturally and linguistically diverse background.

We are looking for someone who is comfortable organising a program of events that engage the community and assist with increasing the number of regular users of library resources. We are also looking for someone who will market events and collections effectively both within and outside the library walls to increase loans and membership figures. Based initially in Glenroy library, this position may relocate to Coburg Library at a later stage based on staff requirements. 

Applicants must have eligibility for professional membership of the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA), and a current Victorian driver’s licence. Fluency in a community language is desirable.
