Position Summary

 

  • Part Time Position (30.4 hours pw / 4 day week)

 

Working in a multi-disciplinary branch of Economic Development the role of Industry Facilitation Officer will develop and maintain strong industry sector and education relationships and facilitate local employment.

You will have significant experience in economic development projects and have a strong understanding of the key employment and industry issues and opportunities in the City of Moreland and the surrounding Melbourne’s North region.

Project management acumen, the ability to develop and drive strategy and your demonstrated ability to foster strong relationships with a variety of entities and stakeholders is essential for this role.

Local Government experience will be highly regarded.

Selection Criteria Essential: • Graduate degree (or higher) qualification with extensive and diverse work experience in a field relevant to economic development – including business development, training and or employment.

Essential: • Demonstrated skills and experience in the development, planning, management and lead the delivery of programs and projects which provide agreed outcomes and demonstrated economic benefits to the local community.

Essential: Experience in policy/strategy development and practice in government or similar organisations.

Essential: • Sound networking skills and ability to gain cooperation from and motivate a range of stakeholders.

Essential: • Experience and success in developing and implementing strategies to foster localised employment and investment growth.

Essential: • Knowledge of investment, employment and labour market issues

Essential: • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills including the ability to prepare reports, recommendations, presentations and other relevant correspondence.

Essential: • Appropriate understanding of the issues affecting industry and a demonstrated ability to liaise with, and develop solutions, in partnership with industry.

Essential: • Current drivers licence.
