Moreland City Council has made a commitment to strengthening and investing in the significant creative sector of Moreland to enhance its standing as a destination for the arts. The Festivals Program Producer role is at the very heart of this commitment, working in a dynamic and contemporary hub of artistic activities.

The role oversees the planning and delivery of Moreland’s Festivals and Events program which includes iconic large scale events such as the Brunswick Music Festival, Sydney Road Street Party and Coburg Night Market, as well as small scale community events such as Fawkner Festa and Coburg Carnivale.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience and demonstrated capacity to deliver high quality and engaging events to diverse communities. They will have a proven track record with developing partnerships that enhance festival programs and reach new audiences, as well as significant experience in obtaining funding and sponsorships.

Selection Criteria Essential: A tertiary qualification in Arts, Arts Management, Event or Production Management or a related discipline

Essential: Demonstrated ability of festival program and event planning, development and evaluation skills for both large and small scale events with diverse stakeholders

Essential: Demonstrated ability to deliver quality and innovative outcomes within tight timelines and within budget

Essential: Demonstrated ability to develop partnerships and attract funding to festivals and events

Desirable: Demonstrated ability with contract management, particularly with relation to production logistics and infrastructure

Desirable: Demonstrated ability to think analytically, strategically and creatively and to develop innovative and new services and procedures and be proactive in implementing them.

Essential: Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Essential: Well developed skills in coordinating, motivating and supervising others including staff members, contractors and committees

Desirable: Highly developed problem solving skills

Essential: Empathy, inclusion and cultural awareness – ability to communicate and relate well to people from a diverse range of cultures and backgrounds
