Moreland City Council is offering a fantastic opportunity for a Project Engineer to work with a dynamic team to deliver infrastructure projects for the benefit of the Moreland Community.

The position involves the investigation and delivery of Capital Works projects including road reconstruction, drainage and traffic mangement works. You will be responsible for the planning, design and management of projects including the coordination of external consultants. The role will also encompass the assessment and approval of drainage plans for Onsite Storm Water Detention and Water Sensitive Urban Design elements relating to multi-unit developments and subdivisions.

Candidates must have a degree in Civil Engineering, have good communication and administrative skills and have a proven ability to resolve issues. A current Victorian drivers licence is essential.

Selection Criteria Essential: Degree in Civil Engineering

Essential: Experience in planning, design and management of Capital Works Infrastructure Projects

Essential: Experience in civil construction environment, particularly in the design, setting out and construction of urban & local road reconstruction

Essential: Experience in assessing onsite stormwater detention associated with multi-unit developments and subdivisions

Essential: Experience in the design of Water Sensitive Urban Design elements integrated into larger infrastructure projects

Essential: Extensive experience in the ability to produce designs and plans for Municipal Capital Works projects including the preparation of estimates and schedules

Essential: Demonstrated ability to undertake the selection of consultants, co-ordinate and supervise the development of consultant designs and carry out checking and approval of designs

Essential: Well developed skills in managing time, setting priorities and planning and organising work to achieve objectives and goals

Essential: Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with a strong focus on the capacity to develop and maintain positive and effective relationships and partnerships both with internal and external stakeholders

Essential: Demonstrated commitment to quality assurance practices, workplace health and safety, and environmental standards, practices and procedures

Essential: Current Victorian Drivers Licence
