The Project Engineer Roads will work with a dynamic team to design and deliver infrastructure projects for the benefit of the Moreland Community.

The position involves the investigation and design of Capital Works projects associated with road and drainage reconstruction. You will also be responsible for the planning, design and management of projects including the coordination of external consultants. The role will also encompass the assessment and approval of drainage plans for Onsite Stormwater Detention and Water Sensitive Urban Design elements relating to multi-unit developments and subdivisions.

Candidates must have a degree in Civil Engineering, be experienced in the use of Civil Design computer software, have good communication and administrative skills and have a proven ability to resolve issues. A current Victorian drivers licence is essential.

Selection Criteria Essential: Degree in Civil Engineering

Essential: Ability to produce designs and plans for Municipal Capital Works projects and prepare estimates and schedules.

Essential: Experience in the design of road and drainage reconstruction infrastructure projects

Essential: Experience in the successful planning, design and management of capital works projects with proven expertise to manage and control projectscope, risk, cost, time and quality.

Essential: Demonstrated ability to undertake the selection of consultants, co-ordinate and supervise external designs and carry out checking and approval of their designs.

Essential: Experience in assessing on-site stormwater detention and water sensitive urban design elements associated with multi-unit developments and subdivisions

Essential: Experience in supervising construction works to ensure that contractors utilise appropriate industry practices and undertake measurement and inspection of the works to ensure compliance with Council's specifications and standards.

Essential: Experience in using Microsoft Office suite, Civil Design computer software (AutoCAD, Advance Road Design or similar software packages), GIS Systems and Customer Request Systems.

Essential: Excellent written and oral communication skills, including demonstrated ability to communicate with a range of stakeholders and prepare advice.

Essential: Well developed skills in managing time, setting priorities and planning and organising work as required to achieve objectives and goals.
