  • $32.20 per hour + casual loading
  • Includes some weekend and evening work

Moreland City Council is seeking a skilled, enthusiastic and creative individual to work at the Counihan Gallery in Brunswick on a casual basis.

The successful candidate will have the ability to assist with a variety of arts and culture projects including a range of activities related to exhibition installation technical support. They will particularly have proven high level skills in the physical installation and deinstallation of a diverse range of art media and audio visual equipment and event set up.

The ability to work well in a team environment is essential as are customer service skills. The position requires flexibility and a capacity to work at short notice.

Selection Criteria Essential: Ability to work collaboratively with others

Essential: Ability to assist with the receipt, protection, installation and dismantling of exhibition works when required

Essential: Ability to provide good customer service at the gallery reception desk and attend to visitor enquiries.

Essential: Ability to assist the Gallery Curator and Gallery Assistant to implement a range of activities that promote the gallery exhibition program

Essential: A proven understanding of safe work practices in relation to working in a gallery environment for identifying and reporting workplace hazards

Essential: A sound knowledge of contemporary art practice and issues, especially Australian contemporary art

Desirable: Responsible Serving of Alcohol Certificate preferable
