Position Summary

Latrobe Regional Hospital (LRH) is the largest hospital in Gippsland providing a broad range of nursing, midwifery, specialist medical, surgical, psychiatric, oncology, paramedical, radiological and pathology services.

We are currently seeking dual Registered Nurse/Midwives to enter the Graduate Nurse & Midwifery Program in 2018. The Graduate Nurse & Midwifery Program offers a dynamic and well-structured graduate experience in a progressive, friendly supportive environment.

Four rotations will be offered: two nursing rotations and two midwifery rotations. Nursing rotations will be in the Tarra Unit (Orthopaedic/Paediatric Unit), with both placements on the same unit to enhance consolidation of skills. Midwifery rotations will occur in the Thomson unit, which as a single unit enables experience across the full scope of midwifery practice in a hospital environment. The graduate will develop and consolidate their skills in Postnatal, Labour ward, Women's health and Medical/Surgical nursing.

Applicants must be both registered nurses and registered midwives with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) by the start of the program. Participants in previous Graduate Programs are ineligible to apply. It is desirable that applicants address the Selection Criteria as outlined in the on-line position advertisement.

The positions will be filled on fixed term part time basis, with an intake commencing 29 January 2018.

The opportunities for ongoing employment and career development beyond the Graduate Program are very good.

Applicants must apply by 21 July 2017 through the Postgraduate Medical Council of Victoria Nurse Computer Match website as well as directly to Latrobe Regional Hospital. Four recent clinical appraisals (two nursing and two midwifery appraisals) and the Application form are to be attached as part of the application.

Applicants who are ineligible to apply through Nurse Computer Match may still apply by completing the on-line application directly to Latrobe Regional Hospital.
