Latrobe Regional Hospital (LRH) is the largest hospital in Gippsland providing a broad range of nursing, midwifery, specialist medical, surgical, psychiatric, oncology, paramedical, radiological and pathology services.

We are currently seeking Registered Nurses to enter the combined Graduate Nurse Program in medical/surgical and mental health in 2018. The combined Graduate Nurse Program offers a dynamic and well-structured graduate experience in a progressive, friendly supportive environment.

The Program offers four 3-month rotations over a 12 month period, with Graduates commencing in either the Tanjil Unit (Medical/Surgical) or the Flynn Unit (Acute Mental Health).

Rotations alternate between Tanjil and Flynn every three months to facilitate competence and confidence in both areas of nursing. The graduate will receive orientation and clinical support from a preceptor and clinical educator in both areas. The graduate will also attend study days with both the graduate nurses in the general graduate program and the graduate nurses in the postgraduate mental health program. Graduates will have the option, but are not required, to enrol in tertiary studies in mental health nursing during their graduate year if they wish.

Applicants must be registered by the start of the program with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Participants in previous Graduate Programs are ineligible to apply.

Two positions will be filled on fixed term part time basis, with the intake commencing 29 January 2018.

The opportunities for ongoing employment and career development beyond the Graduate Program are excellent.
