Position Summary

An opportunity exists for a motivated individual to join the Finance and Business Services Department as the Enterprise Risk Manager. The Enterprise Risk Manager is responsible for facilitating and coordinating the implementation of the Risk Management Framework at Goulburn Valley Health. This includes development and implementation of systems to support risk management; ensuring risk management is integral to strategic business planning and performance management systems; leading and providing education programs in risk management, incident investigation and patient safety; supervising systems to monitor legislative and standards compliance; reporting relevant performance data; supporting staff to participate in risk management activities; coordination and management of the organisational risk register, consulting on risk management issues and other strategies for evaluating and improving the quality and safety of patient care.

The successful applicant will have well-developed time management and problem-solving skills, the ability to prioritise tasks and work under minimal supervision. Applicants should also possess excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills and be able to work effectively within a team environment. A sound knowledge of computer based software applications including Word/Excel/database management systems is also required.

Selection Criteria Essential: Substantial experience in the development and implementation of integrated risk management frameworks and quality programs in a healthcare organisation.
Essential: Demonstrated understanding of clinical governance principles.
Essential: Comprehensive knowledge base of risk management theory (including the Risk Management Standard - AS/NZ ISO 31000) and application of risk management principles within a health care setting.
Essential: Experience in the development and maintenance of risk registers.
Essential: Excellent writing skills including a demonstrated ability to prepare reports using clear and concise language appropriate for the purpose and audience.
Essential: Contribute effectively as a participative and supportive team member within a multidisciplinary team environment.
Essential: High level skills in complex problem solving and associated decision making.
Essential: Highly developed interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to interact at all levels of the organisation.
Essential: A relevant Tertiary Qualification.
Essential: Appropriate post graduate qualification at a Masters Degree level or working towards such Experience in Public Sector or Health administration.
Essential: Experience in quality improvement, project management and change management.
Essential: Strong competency in RiskMan (Victorian Health Incident Management System) and Riskman Q at an Administrator level.
