| Position Summary |
headspace Shepparton requires a Senior Psychologist 2 days a week for assistance with the development and support of the enhanced care pathway at headspace Shepparton. The role requires expertise to provide early intervention with young people with complex presentations which may include severe or prolonged Axis 1 Diagnosis, and/or comorbidity, and/or Mental Health and significant psychosocial issues but can still be managed in a primary care setting. This role also requires the ability to mentor and support the Enhanced Care Team. The role is a Maternity Relief Position until February 2020, but will be initially offered as a short term contract to June 2019 in line with the current funding contract.
The successful applicant will have well-developed time management and problem-solving skills, the ability to prioritise tasks and work under minimal supervision. Applicants should also possess excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills and be able to work effectively within a team environment. A sound knowledge of computer based software applications including Word/Excel/database management systems is also required.

Essential: • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency. Essential: Minimum 5 years professional experience as a Grade 2 Psychologist (or equivalent). Desirable: Endorsement by the Psychology Board of Australia to practice as a clinical, forensic or clinical neuropsychologist. Essential: Meet the required qualifications and standards to provide specific psychological therapies. Have the clinical expertise to work with more complex and challenging cases. Essential: Knowledge, skills and expertise for provision of developmentally appropriate care that matches young person’s age and stage of psychological development. This would take into account young person’s psycho-social circumstances, risk and protective factors, personal goals and preferences. Essential: Knowledge, skills and expertise for provision of culturally appropriate and socially inclusive services to young people. Essential: Training and experience in clinical supervision. Desirable: Highly desirable is experience in working with young people with Emerging Eating Disorders and Borderline Personality Disorder. Experience in therapies such as Dialectic Behaviour Therapy, Mentalisation Based Treatment, CBT-E and Family Based Therapy for Eating Disorders would be valued. Essential: High level of computer skills related to word processing, data analysis and communication.
