Position Summary

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced pharmacist to join the team at GV Health as the Senior Oncology and Haematology Pharmacist. The position is responsible for providing the service to, and leading the development of, the pharmacy service in the areas of Oncology and Haematology within our expanding health service and partner agencies.

The successful applicant must have current registration with AHPRA as a pharmacist.  Previous experience in delivering hospital pharmacy oncology and haematology services is essential to this role.

Additionally the applicant will have well-developed time management and problem solving skills, the ability to priorities tasks and work under minimal supervision.  Applicants should process excellent written / verbal communication, an aptitude for information systems, and be able to work effectively within a team environment to assist in the daily operations of the pharmacy as required.

Selection Criteria Essential: Registration as a Pharmacist with AHPRA.
Essential: Excellent communication skills.
Essential: Ability to achieve outcomes, in a small team, through appropriate delegation and supervision of staff.
Essential: Sound knowledge and experience in delivering hospital pharmacy services.
Essential: In depth knowledge of Pharmaceutical Oncology and Haematology, with at least three years’ experience in this specialist area.
Desirable: Clinical experience of managing Palliative Care patients in the inpatient environment.
Desirable: Demonstrated familiarisation with the use, and implementation, of computer based total clinical management systems and procedures.
Essential: Demonstrated commitment to further education including post graduate studies.
Essential: Ability to participate in research, quality improvement projects and /or clinical trials.
Desirable: Hold a Certificate of Competence for Sterile Manufacturing or be willing undertake the necessary training to achieve competence.
Essential: Willingness to take part in the on-call roster and work weekends and public holidays as required.
Essential: Current valid driver’s licence.
Essential: Satisfactory National History Criminal Check prior to commencement of employment.
