About the position


Meter Maintenance is seeking to appoint a motivated individual to join their team as a Meter Maintenance Officer based at Ashmore Depot. The role is responsible for providing a responsive and proactive metered parking service, including the installation and maintenance of the City's pay by bay machines and parking sensors, that will substantially contribute to the provision of a safe and regulated environment following the City's aims and objectives.


Key deliverables of the position:


  • Installation and maintenance of the City's parking meters.
  • The utilisation of related mechanical equipment, parts and software.
  • Undertaking works to ensure compliance with the required safety, environmental and legislative requirements.
  • Undertaking site-specific activities including coordination of parking terminals and installation of parking bay numbering.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on meters, and troubleshooting as necessary to ensure proper operation of meters.
  • Updating records to ensure maintenance, repairs and parts are appropriately tracked as per policies and procedures.

About us


Transport and Infrastructure directorate is ultimately here to deliver quality infrastructure and services that align with the broader organisation vision and purpose. The directorate consists of asset custodians, service providers and business support roles that all contribute to the overall management, delivery and maintenance of quality infrastructure and services.


  • The Transport and Traffic branch is responsible for the planning, operational management and delivery of enhancements to the City of Gold Coast's transport network. With around 150 staff across four units, the branch oversees an annual budget over $110million to deliver capital works, supporting operational projects and planning initiatives.
  • Transport and Traffic work under the strategic intent of the City of Gold Coast's Corporate Plan and implements the Gold Coast City Transport Strategy 2031. This framework seeks to ensure the city has a safe and efficient transport system which is responsive to the needs of the community and supports the achievement of economic, environmental and social objectives.
  • The branch works closely with many delivery partners, including the City's development and land use planning teams and the Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads to plan and manage the transport system as 'one network'.
