About the Position

The purpose of this position is to undertake business improvement initiatives and projects that enhance performance and operations in the City Infrastructure Directorate.

Key Responsibilities of the position:

  • Analytical and critical thinking to identify scope, organise tasks into a series of actions and deliver a desired outcome to a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Contribute and support the development and implementation of guidelines, processes and work instructions to achieve continuous improvement and development of the directorate's Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Application of business improvement methodology and use of QMS guidelines and templates.
  • Lead small to medium projects from analysis to implementation and utilise team dynamics to deliver outcomes and meet agreed project deadlines.
  • Ensure projects are effectively managed to achieve quality outcomes whilst ensuring value for money through appropriate governance and processes.
  • Develop internal and external relationships and provide specialist business improvement expertise and advice.
  • Strong knowledge and application of data collection and use of software systems to manage information and provide reports for effective management decision making.
  • Scope a project, identify project outcomes, and identify realistic, achievable and measurable performance indicators against project outcomes and deliverables.
  • Engage stakeholders and create buy-in to achieve overall project success.
  • Produce and analyse business system reports to inform management decision making.

About You

  • You have excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, with particular emphasis in the areas of conflict management and assertiveness.
  • You have the ability to assess and analyse potential or existing problems, and to provide appropriate solutions.
  • You have highly developed time management and organisational skills.
  • You are self-motivated and demonstrate initiative, creativity and the ability to foster enthusiasm among fellow staff.
  • You are a reliable person who constantly works towards achieving individual and team goals.
