About the Position

The City of Gold Coast is seeking additional casual staff to provide support to our Major Sporting Venues (MSV) in a variety of roles and sporting venues across the Gold Coast. MSV hosts a variety of events, which can change significantly from day to day. It is for this reason that we are seeking a number of new, passionate casual staff members to ensure our venues are adequately staffed year-round to provide the best possible service to our customers.

Our Casual Venue Officers assist in a number of varying roles to ensure the successful delivery of our food and beverage and event operations each day. Although the title of the position is 'Casual Venue Officer', the position is diverse and provides our staff with the opportunity work across all areas of the venues, assisting our operations, food and beverage, event set-up and pack down, traffic attendance and plenty more. Some of the many duties of this position are listed below:

Cashiers are the face of our Food and Beverage operations. We are looking for people with previous cash handling experience who are dedicated to uphold the City's cash handling policies and procedures. You will need to thrive under pressure and work well with other members in your team to deliver a great customer experience.

Baristas need to produce a quality cup of coffee EVERY TIME. You will have previous experience working in a high-volume outlet offering fantastic customer service under high pressure situations. The ideal candidate will be a team player and must be willing to help wherever required to ensure overall success of the outlet.

Cooks must have the ability to produce quality food items within a high-volume environment. You need to be well organised and thrive under pressure. We are looking for people with a strong knowledge of food safety requirements, ability to follow recipes, deliver consistent food presentation and keeping wastage to a minimum.

Events Labourers assist the Maintenance and Operations Team with the set up and pack down of events, including setting up retractable grandstands, laying/lifting carpet tiles, operating pallet jacks and unloading deliveries. You maintain a high level of physical fitness and always undertake your duties in accordance with workplace health and safety policies and procedures.

Traffic Attendants support the Traffic Supervisor in managing the carpark during Events and Gold Coast Suns home game days. You pride yourself on your exceptional customer service skills and ability to work independently, whilst following strict procedural guidelines.

All positions are Casual, and you will be required to be available on an ad-hoc basis across our venue's operating hours, which are from 6am - 11pm (or can be earlier/later during major events). Our events can range from sporting tournaments to expos and other activities, and shifts are largely dependent on event schedules.
