About the Position

Corporate Communication leads all external marketing and communication on behalf of the City of Gold Coast.

The City Reputation team is focused on delivering marketing and communication campaigns that align with the endorsed City Reputation Strategic Plan and the Gold Coast 2022 (the City's Corporate Plan).

We’re looking for a strategic, highly skilled marketer with a digital marketing and media background and skill set to lead a diverse team of marketing and communication, digital and visual arts resources to deliver high-quality campaigns and services across the Gold Coast. This position will include developing marketing, communication and digital strategies and plans to elevate the city’s reputation.

The Team Leader City Reputation and Visual Arts will:

  • Coordinate marketing, sponsorship and collaboration opportunities across the City of Gold Coast with multiple internal and external stakeholders
  • Lead the team to deliver value-for-money and high quality marketing and communications, partnerships, photography and videography services that contribute to a positive city reputation, a positive business impact and true community or social benefit.
  • Manage a team to deliver City reputation building digital content with city partners’ internal and external stakeholders across the city’s digital hub.
  • Manage a team to create and deliver content for the City’s social media channels.
  • Ensure effective channel-based communications in a multi-channel environment
  • Risk management and control of campaigns and service delivery though strong governance
  • Ensure integration with marketing and media activities of the City and external partners
  • Assist the Coordinator to develop and deliver the draft City Reputation Strategy

About You

  • Bachelor of Marketing / Communication or demonstrated equivalent knowledge and experience
  • Extensive experience across multiple marketing and  communication channels
  • A proven leader who champions change and develops people to achieve their personal and organisational goals
  • Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders internally and externally to meet marketing and communication and partnership requirements
  • Ability to think beyond the status quo to bring about continuous improvement to create new ways of working for the business and key partners within and across the city
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills ensuring consistency and clarity of advice; highly developed analytical, problem solving and investigative skills to provide options and recommendations to influence outcomes.
