The Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital is a world class specialist hospital in eye and ear care that provides services across Victoria. As Australia’s only specialist eye, ear, nose and throat hospital, the Eye and Ear has been providing care for the senses for over 150 years.
The Eye and Ear has over 60 different specialist clinics for the diagnosis, monitoring and treatment of vision and hearing loss and provides a 24 hour emergency eye and ear, nose, and throat service. The Eye and Ear provides care annually for around 250,000 patients, with over 195,000 outpatients, nearly 43,000 emergency patients and nearly 14,000 inpatients.
The hospital is currently undergoing a major redevelopment to create a modern internal structure, improve access for patients and visitors and staff.

About the Role
This role is located in the Emergency department and you will work as part of the Outpatient Bookings Unit and support the Switchboard and back of house functions. This role supports patients throughout their journey through the emergency department providing patient support, administrative functions including registration, appointment bookings and data entry. The successful applicant will have a high customer focus and be able to work efficiently within a busy and dynamic environment. The role requires you to be flexible and work between the emergency department and switchboard functions as required.
The emergency department administration functions from 0700 to 0200 7 day a week. This is a permanent part time position working 7 days per fortnight and is an after-hours role with shifts Week 1 Tuesday and Wednesday PM 3.30pm-11pm and Friday 8.00-16.30pm Week 2: Monday and Tuesday 3.30-11.00pm and Friday and Saturday 8.00-16.30pm. There is also the opportunity to pick up additional shifts if they become available at short notice.
