Your responsibilities will include:

  • Shadowing and providing immediate feedback and coaching to trainees and dental assistants, ensuring they use the most effective and efficient means for managing patients.
  • Managing the induction of newly hired clinical staff including acting as a ‘buddy’ ensuring activities are aligned with DHSV’s overall induction framework.
  • Performing dental assisting chair side duties unless required for coaching including actively engaging in operational activities including meetings, managing complaints and accreditation requirements.

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Certificate III in Dental Assisting/Certificate in Dental Nursing and Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (Please note: Overseas trained dentist must have a qualification in Dental Assisting).
  • Minimum 6 years’ experience with chair-side assisting.
  • Strong experience in coaching and managing the performance of trainees and dental assistants in a clinical environment.

Why you should be a part of our team?

Our patients come from many different cultures and backgrounds, and treating them is what makes our job so rewarding and challenging. One thing is for certain at Dental Health Services Victoria – you will share the pride and satisfaction of putting a smile on every patient’s face.

Our Dental Assistants have the opportunity to further their education beyond the initial Certificate III in Dental Assisting.  We have educational pathways in Certificate IV in Radiology and Oral Health Promotion or in Certificate IV in Training and Workplace Assessment.  You will have a great career path in front of you, one that may take you to various leadership roles, or a coaching and mentoring role.
