About the role:

We have an exciting opportunity for a customer focussed individual to join our organisation as an Instrument Technician in the Central Sterilisation Services Department (CSSD) at the Royal Dental Hospital Melbourne (RDHM).This role reports to the CSSD Manager and is responsible for cleaning, disinfecting and sterilising instruments and equipment for use in the provision of dental treatment.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • The decontamination and sterilisation of instruments in compliance with DHSV policies and procedures, and National standards and guidelines.
  • Ensure correct equipment maintenance, supply and storage.
  • Identify and make recommendations on opportunities to improve processes, workplace health and safety, quality and service delivery outcomes

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • A Certificate III in Sterilising Practice for Technicians
  • Knowledge and experience in the decontamination / sterilisation of instruments +/- dental instruments
  • Experience in CSSD procedures and the principles of cross contamination prevention
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
