Position Summary

The City Planning Department at Brimbank is innovative, responsive and a leader in the field of electronic application lodgement and processing.  We are seeking an enthusiastic, committed planning professional to join the team as a Development Planner.

In this role, you will process a wide range of planning applications, always striving to achieve the best outcome for each application and offering a high level of customer service.  You will work with applicants, objectors, internal departments and referral authorities and your mediation and negotiation skills will always be put to good use.

Selection Criteria Essential: Do you have relevant tertiary qualifications in planning or a related discipline, together with several years of relevant planning experience?

Essential: Do you have a well-developed understanding of the Victorian planning system, experience in administering planning related legislation and regulations, and an ability to implement strategic plans and policies through the statutory planning process?

Essential: Do you have a well-developed conceptual and analytic skills, a capacity to identify and develop solutions to statutory planning issues?

Essential: Do you have a demonstrated ability to provide advice about statutory planning matters, excellent writing and presentation skills and an ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people?

Essential: Do you have a commitment to excellence in customer service and to managing stakeholder relations?

Essential: Do you have a proficient interpersonal and problem solving skills and the ability to negotiate and mediate between parties in order to achieve sustainable outcomes?

Essential: Do you have a competent project management skills, including an ability to manage a range of issues simultaneously?
