Brimbank Youth Service, Youth Support has a temporary 12 month, 15 hour per week position in its B-Heard program. Working within a passionate team dedicated to making a difference in the lives of young people, the role supports the delivery of Council’s Youth Strategy 2015-19 and contributes to Brimbank City Council Plan 2017 – 2021.
The Youth Counsellor role sits within a small team of generalist support workers whose roles in early intervention and prevention include therapeutic intervention, generalist counselling, psycho education and referrals.
The youth Counsellor specifically provides one on one counselling to young people 12 - 25 years of age who live, work, study or socialise in our municipality and operates from a holistic family inclusive model.
The successful candidate will be a dynamic communicator, skilled at building rapport quickly with young people, with relevant experience and qualifications to conduct client intake and assessments, determine and deliver appropriate interventions, build partnerships and work collaboratively across council and with allied and specialist youth services.
