This rewarding full time position will focus on the development and implementation of key strategic documents that guides Council's approach to the provision, operation and composition of well designed, sustainable, integrated and accessible community infrastructure and the related needs of accessible community services.
Reporting to the Leisure and Community Facilities Planning Coordinator, the duties of the successful applicant will include but not be limited to:
- Implementing the Community Services and Infrastructure Plan which focuses on the delivery of a strategic and well researched evidence based approach for the need, provision and management of well designed , integrated and timely community infrastructure, which ensures sustainable capital programs, asset operations and equitable community access.
- Supporting the identification of potential community infrastructure solutions that meet Councils needs and work with key service areas and external agencies to pursue funding and locations to realise community infrastructure priorities.
- Prepare and/ or contribute to the preparation of comprehensive feasibility studies, planning guidelines, asset design standards, management and infrastructure plans to ensure the future provision of community assets are aligned with community need and organisational capacity to manage.
The successful candidate will need to have a demonstrated ability to think laterally and provide innovative methods to achieve beneficial outcomes for Council and the community based on sound judgement, research and consultation.
Several years experience in Leisure/ Community Infrastructure planning in a local government setting is preferred

Selection Criteria |
Essential: Do you have a degree qualification in land use planning, sports, leisure, recreation, community planning or related area with several years experience in leisure or community infrastructure planning, preferably in local government setting?
Essential: Do you have demonstrated experience in assisting in the development and implementation sustainable initiatives, policy options and strategic community plans that best position Council to respond to community infrastructure needs?
Essential: Do you have excellent communication skills including the ability to adapt communications to an identified purpose, build relationships and gain stakeholder cooperation with varied levels of understanding and/or experience?
Essential: Do you have a current drivers licence? |
