Position Summary |
The Community Planning and Engagement position is based at Council’s Connected Communities Unit which is responsible for building community capacity, increasing participation in community life and driving engagement best practices across the organisation to ensure community needs inform decision making. The Unit engages with the Brimbank community to support project implementation and policy development such as the Brimbank Community Vision 2040 and Council Plan 2017 - 2021.
The Community Vision 2040 is important because we need to plan not only for what the community needs now but also for future generations. The Community Vision 2040 establishes a shared framework for the community and partner organisations to work collectively because none of the goals can be achieved by a single organisation.
This is a temporary full time position up to 31/08/2020.
For more information see our position description.
Brimbank City Council embraces our diverse community and work environment and encourages applications from everyone, including people of Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander background, people of diverse sexual orientation and gender, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, and people of varied age, ability, and faith. Council will give due consideration to any workplace adjustments to accommodate the needs of any prospective or existing staff member.
