Position Summary |
An exciting opportunity exists up until December 2020 for a highly motivated and progressive person who is passionate about learning and interested in working collaboratively with others to develop Brimbank as a learning community.
The successful candidate will join a great team and:
- Lead and manage the Learning Unit
- Implement the Brimbank Lifelong Learning Strategy 2018-2023 and the Brimbank Youth Jobs Strategy 2018-2023.
- Oversee the implementation of the new Brimbank Learning Futures project at the Council managed area of VISY Cares Hub. This will be a key deliverable.
- Support and facilitate collaboration and partnership between learning providers, local business, state, federal and local government, community groups and local service providers to identify and address gaps in learning provision
- Organise key learning events to encourage community participation in lifelong learning
- Create `Communities of Practice’ around each of the key life stages
The successful candidate will:
- Have experience in leading and managing staff
- Value innovation and create new approaches to improve learning outcomes
- Have strong business acumen
- Have demonstrated project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deliver them on time and on budget
- Be experienced in building and maintaining strategic partnerships with key internal and external stakeholders
- Have relevant tertiary and/or postgraduate qualifications.
The position will commence March 2019 or earlier by negotiation.
