Position Summary

Are you a proactive person with incredible engagement skills, experience in supporting volunteers and a passion for the natural environment?

Are you looking to lend your amazing skills and experience to provide the Brimbank community with high quality and effective environmental education and awareness programs that contribute to the protection and resilience of our natural environment?

Brimbank City Council's Environment Department is seeking an experienced person to assist with the development and delivery of education and engagement programs to strengthen and maximise community awareness and connection to Brimbank’s natural environment.

The primary objectives of the position are to:

  • Develop, promote and deliver a range of education and engagement programs for community and schools.
  • Support local conservation groups and volunteers, including ‘Friends of’ groups, which assist with the active management and improvement of conservation areas.
  • Develop new relationships within the community who are not currently engaged with Brimbank’s natural environment.
  • Deliver capital works projects to enhance community awareness of Brimbank’s natural environment.

The successful applicant will have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications
  • Current drivers licence
  • Current working with children check
  • Your positive attitude and ability to work effectively as part of a team towards a healthy natural environment will see you thrive in this role.

Temporary Full-time (12 months). Commuter Use vehicle.

Selection Criteria Essential: Do you have formal qualifications or significant experience in the environment or natural resource management sector?

Desirable: Do you have experience with supervising conservation volunteers?

Essential: Do you have experience developing educational programs?

Essential: Do you have project management experience?

Essential: Do you have a current Victorian Drivers Licence?
