About Brimbank
The City of Brimbank is the second largest municipality in Melbourne, located in the Western Region about 20 kms from the central business district. It is a culturally diverse municipality and is currently experiencing strong residential, industrial and commercial development. Brimbank includes 25 new and established suburbs and incorporates one of the largest industrial areas in Melbourne. It also has a number of important institutions including the Sunshine Hospital and the St Albans campus of the Victoria University of Technology. The main industries are chemical product manufacturing.
About the Department
Brimbank Council has a vision of being a “community first” council. To enable this vision we have made some exciting structure changes and combined ICT and Innovation Teams together in a newly formed department “Projects and Innovation”.
Innovation Team aims to improve customer experience by improving / transforming council service offerings by optimising people, processes and technology. ICT Team is responsible for providing technology services (software, hardware, devices) to staff and the community such as via library services.
Position Summary
To lead the end to end strategy development, delivery and performance of the Council’s Information Technology and Communications systems and architecture including the identification, design, configuration, integration, maintenance and support of information technology and communication solutions.
You will have
Essential
- Tertiary qualification in information technology related discipline and
- Substantial experience in working within a corporate information technology environment providing information technology architecture or enterprise application management services
- Strong team leadership across direct and indirect reports
- Proven ICT enterprise project delivery success holding a Project Management Certification (Agile, Prince2, PMBOK etc)
- Extensive vendor management and commercially savvy
- Understanding of ICT Service Delivery performance improvement techniques
- Ability to work in accordance with our values and behaviours
Desirable
- Understanding / experience with big data, data integration, analytics
- Understanding / experience with cloud-based solutions
- Change management experience
- Understanding / experience with Lean or business improvement principles
- Understanding / experience with systems architecture and data security
