This is a rewarding opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic youth and community worker who would like to expand their experience in working with young people to a library environment.
The role is a face to face customer service role in libraries where the successful person will be able to utilise their skills in engaging with young people.
We are looking for an experienced youth and community workers with a passion for working with young people to join our casual team of staff and able to work across any of our five libraries at short notice.
The role provides a great opportunity to work with a diverse community, and work with community members of all ages.
The successful candidate must be experienced in working with young people in a community development context and have solid and practical IT skills to assist customers in using a range of PC’s and mobile devices.
Applicants must have excellent communication skills and able to resolve issues for customers and manage poor customer behaviour.
Applicants must have good availability on week days
Fluency in a language other than English is desirable especially Vietnamese or any of the African languages. Successful candidates must be able to assist customers from a range of cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
