Bendigo Health’s Psychiatric Services Division provides a broad range of services to people with mental illness. Bendigo Health operates a 24 hour, seven days a week Psychiatric Regional Triage Service and has aligned services to support people who require crisis care. Psychiatric Services work with children and familes, youth, adults and aged patients and provide care and support in community settings through clinical teams that are situated across the Loddon Mallee Region

The FaPMI coordinator position aims to improve workforce and organsaitonal responses to Families where a parent has a mental ilnness.

Selection Criteria
Essential:
01.AHPRA Registration or authorised professional registration as either: a Division 1 Nurse with undergraduate specialisation or with a post graduate qualification in Mental Health, Psychologist with postgraduate qualification in Clinical Psychology, Occupational Therapist or Social Work with extensive

Essential:
02.Demonstrated ability to work independently and utilise initiative to develop the role providing services across community based organisations and specialist mental health services

Essential:
03.Demonstrated high level skills and experience in and knowledge of, the adult, child and adolescent mental health field and associated health and welfare services

Essential:
04.Knowledge of the epidemiology, aetiology, assessment, diagnosis and management of people with mental disorders

Essential:
05.Clinical interest and demonstrated experience in working with adults who are parents who have experienced mental illness, and their families

Essential:
06.Demonstrated understanding of the developmental needs of children 0-18 years

Essential:
07.Experience and demonstrated skills in the provision of consultation and supervision and design and delivery of professional development and training programs to a range of service providers

Essential:
08.Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients, carers, colleagues, service providers and the community

Essential:
09.Demonstrated capacity and commitment to work collaboratively in partnership with service providers across a range of sectors and as part of the Bendigo Health area mental health service

Essential:
10.Sound knowledge of the Mental Health Act and amendments, other relevant legislation pertaining to working in mental health and with children, youth and families and the current strategic directions of mental health and primary care services

11.Information technology skills and a familiarity with a range of computer software programs

12.Evidence of a commitment to ongoing professional development
