About the team

The Women’s Ward and Birthing Suite is located on Level 3 of the new Bendigo Hospital. The team provides care to women and children from across the Loddon Mallee region and support approximately 1600 births per year. The unit has 6 birthing suites and 18 antenatal/postnatal beds. Midwives and the medical team collaborate during the patients stay to ensure they are given the best possible care. Our patients are supported by an on-call Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, Paediatric and an Anaesthetic service. 

 

Your impact

You will be working with a dedicated and supportive team of healthcare professionals. Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager, your position's purpose is to provide sensitive, evidence based, family centred care to our patients. You will work in birth suite, postnatal areas, the Women’s Health Centre or SCBU. Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensure all patients, clients, visitors and staff are treated with respect, dignity and courtesy in an environment that is free from harassment and discrimination
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to achieve desired health outcomes for patients
  • Mentor or preceptor staff as directed by the Nurse Unit Manager or delegate
  • Assume rotation into senior roles when delegated or required to do so, based on the level of educational preparation and competence

01.Registered with AHPRA as Registered Midwife
